On Friday 3rd of July, 2026, the York Dungeon celebrated 40 years of screams by giving away 40 free tickets for York Residents!

York Dungeon Joined by Local Businesses For First Volunteer Riverside Clean Event of 2026

A number of York businesses once again joined the York Dungeon on the 17th of March in cleaning up York’s riverside. The York Dungeon first held a riverside clean in June 2022, in support of the global conservation charity SEA LIFE TRUST and their annual Global Beach Clean. This was the 7th such event, with at least two more proposed to take place in June and September 2026.

Chinese Student Ambassadors Visit the York Dungeon

Today at the York Dungeon we had the honour of welcoming the latest cohort of Chinese Student Ambassadors for a tour through 2,000 years of York's dark and grizzly history.

York Dungeon and the Hospitality Junior Board

The York Dungeon have been proudly supporting the Hospitality Junior Board since 2024. Described as a "place for young people in hospitality to grow, build confidence, and find their place in the industry", their program takes rising stars from tourism and hospitality and creates a fantastic development program for them.

York Dungeon Actors Make Visit to York Hospital on Behalf of Merlin’s Magic Wand

On Tuesday 16th December Jester and Smedley from the York Dungeon paid a visit to the children’s ward at York Hospital to hand out gifts on behalf of Merlin’s Magic Wand. Taking some time out from delivering scares, the actors from the York Dungeon ensured there were smiles and laughs all round as the Jester and Smedley brought some festive fun to the children who were on the ward on Tuesday.

York Dungeon has been officially snowballed!

That's right, Snowball Community, as seen on BBC's Dragons Den, visited us in November 2025 to perform a full accessibility assessment. They were really impressed with the improvements that our team have made in recent years to make the York Dungeon as accessible and inclusive for as many potential "victims" as possible!
