March 2025 Riverside Clean

We hosted a very successful riverside "spring" clean this morning! You can see the before and after pictures of all of our amazing volunteers!

This was one of our most successful clean up mornings yet, with 72kg of rubbish collected!!! And what wonderful weather to share the morning with people from a number of outstanding York businesses.

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us, including The Hospitality Junior Board C.I.C, Make It York, the Hilton York, Eboracum Security, Little Vikings - The Best of York for Kids, York Gin and York Distillery, and our very own Jester and Smedley.

It is always great to be able to give back to the local community, and keep our riverside area looking clean and tidy for our visitors and residents alike. And that is 72kg of rubbish that now won't end up in the River Ouse or River Foss, protecting local marine life and protecting our seas and oceans further afield. Equally great to spread the good word of the SEA LIFE TRUST and support their good work too.

(Unusual items collected included a skateboard with the wheels missing, a vinyl record (artist unknown), a shopping basket, and a catering size tub of a well known brand brown sauce).

Our next riverside clean will be held in June this year......
