Top Tips

Book your tickets in advance online:

  • Guarantee your preferred time slot!

  • Have the best experience by cutting your queue time!

  • Best available prices online!

  • Less stress!

  • It's quick!

Practise Those Scary Faces!

Before beginning your decent into The York Dungeon you will have a photograph taken together, so practice those scary faces! Please note that the photo at admissions is optional – just tell the team you’d rather not.

Toilets!

Use the loo before you queue! Ask a member of staff before your tour starts to see if you have time to use the facilities; otherwise there is a toilet accessible after the Plague show and after the Golden Fleece, just ask one of our actors if you are unsure.  We don’t like cleaning up “spillages”.

Food and Drink

We do not have restaurant or café facilities in the Dungeon. We do offer a range of crisps, snacks and drinks but these are not for consumption on the tour.

Creche

We do not have any sort of crèche or childcare facilities at the Dungeon (unless you count the Torture Chamber…) Children must be accompanied at all times and if any child in your group wants to leave, both that child and any children remaining on the tour must be accompanied so please bring enough adults! Any children found wandering alone will be put to work in the Torture Chamber.

Alcohol

We operate a zero tolerance policy on alcohol. If you have been drinking we reserve the right to refuse you entry.

The Actors

They’re brilliant! They’re a wee bit scary, but they will NOT touch you. And in return we ask that you don’t touch them. Most of them have the plague and goodness knows where you’ve been. But seriously, if you do touch them you run the risk of immediate expulsion from the Dungeon without a refund.

“Well done Guys n Girls. What a show. I'd recommend anyone going to York to not miss out. Characters are excellent and the whole experience was superb. Frights and laughs galore.
