Come into the darkness of Castle Prison, York, and hear the tale of the notorious highwayman Dick Turpin.
Renowned for poaching, burglary, horse theft and murder. Hear about Turpin's crimes committed between London and York on his horse companion Bess.
This show is set in York Castle in 1739. The Castle is still a seat of justice today; the 18th century Courthouse is now York Crown Court adjacent to York Dungeon. It still has holding cells and people accused of serious crimes are still tried there, as they have been for almost 1,000 years.

“Can't wait for the York Dungeon to re-open! I went a couple of years ago with some friends and we all absolutely loved it, was so much fun. Will definitely be visiting again once it re-opens.”Hannah See more reviews...
