LOVE IN THE DUNGEON: SCOTLAND’S TOP ATTRACTION FOR SCARY FUN PLAYS CUPID THIS VALENTINE’S

3rd February, 2015

Love is going underground as the cupids at The Edinburgh Dungeon have set their arrows on making one lucky couple’s marriage proposal a reality.

In the spirit of St Valentine, the team at The Edinburgh Dungeon are calling on plucky lovebirds to submit their dream proposal ideas. The most ambitious and creative suggestion will then get the full backing of the Dungeon’s performance team, guaranteeing a truly memorable moment to pop the question.

In 2014, bold romantic Kevin Wells proposed to his then girlfriend Lauren. After weeks of secret consultation and planning with the team at the Edinburgh Dungeon, Kevin staged a musical proposal inspired by his hero Charlie Simpson, all conducted under the watchful eye of the infamous Judge.

Now with a date in the diary for their nuptials, Kevin said: “Seven months ago I proposed to the woman who I plan to spend the rest of my life with. Never did I expect it to turn out even better than I had imagined.

“Without the support of everyone at the Edinburgh Dungeon, it wouldn't have been half as amazing as it was. The Dungeon will forever hold a special place in our relationship, and we hope to return every year to pay homage to the very place we took the leap.

“Lauren and I would like to share with you the news that we are expecting our first child together in July 2015; we could not be happier.”

Budding beaus can submit their proposal ideas to Edinburgh.Dungeon@merlinentertainments.biz or follow @EdinDungeon on Twitter and send suggestions via Direct Message by the 14 February. Johnny Campbell, general manager at The Edinburgh Dungeon, added: “We’re not often the most romantic bunch here at the Dungeon but Kevin’s proposal last year certainly tugged at the heart strings!

“Don’t tell Sawney Bean but we’re secretly rather excited about helping one couple experience a magical proposal with the support of our performance team once more. The more creative and fantastic the proposal idea the better!”

“Very entertaining and funny the whole way through, we enjoyed every minute of it. Well done to the team a great show we will be going again :)”
