School Visits

Edinburgh is famous for its iconic landmarks and monarchy, but how well do your pupils know the darker details of its historic timeline?

Bring alive significant turning points in Scottish history, as pupils interact with the horrible truth on a school trip which will see them walk plague-ridden streets of 1665, escape the murderous pair, Burke & Hare, and face trial in a 16th century judicial system. This is educational learning with suspense, surprise and physical thrill.

The Experience

The Dungeons brings together an amazing cast of theatrical actors, special effects, stages, scenes and rides in a truly unique and exciting walk through experience that you see, hear, touch, smell and feel. It’s hilarious fun and it’s sometimes a bit scary.

We love it. We know your class will too. Here's why:

  • Full on 360 degree sets with gripping storytelling
  • 11  interactive shows and 500 years of history
  • State of the art theming and special effects
  • 2 thrilling underground rides (height restrictions apply)
  • 80 minutes of laughs and screams

Intended for school children aged 8 and over, this is a unique and fun introduction to a range of classroom subjects, including History and Performing Arts.

The shows are based on real Scottish history and legends (minus the boring bits). You'll get up close and personal with sinister characters including the infamous Burke & Hare, and and our very own Plague Doctor's Assistant to name a few.

Here is a tantalising taster of some of our most popular shows and attractions. You can also download a map of the Edinburgh Dungeon's tour.
