“The London Dungeons…right…well…it was amazing! The theatricality of the dungeons was something like I’ve never seen before. The main element of this was the actors. They scared the hell out of me! I especially think that Mrs Lovett was super frightening, with her crazy tantrums and the way that she came up to me and screamed in my face in a way that pretty obviously stated Sweeney Todd was coming for me!
Mrs Lovett was only a starter. The theatricality of the dungeons pretty much scared the life out of me twice because of the super terrifying pitch black darkness that made you question what was round the next corner of every room. One time there was a door that bangs with people shouting at you from the inside and another time there was a hand that touches your hair from behind. In other words, the darkness put my fear to the test.
There were also some very humorous sections of the dungeons (which would’ve been even funnier for younger children). For example, when two dead bodies came to life, I was expecting them to jump out of their coffins and scare me yet again. However, they just told a few jokes about their deaths and some very disgusting subjects to say the bare minimum. After this, they just casually closed their coffins and went back to death. This allowed you to catch your breath back from all of the previous situations.
Overall, the London Dungeons was a scary, yet very enjoyable and funny experience that I would recommend to lots of children, although the dungeons will especially scare the hell out of you adults out there too!
