York Dungeon Tours

The Dungeon City Tour takes the York Dungeon experience onto the streets! Led by a costumed Dungeon actor the Tour brings the real horror and history behind York’s most notorious tales back to life. Interactive, educational, funny and just that little bit scary, the Dungeon Tour will take you on a journey back in time as you walk the ground on which history was so violently made.

The tour leaves the York Dungeon every evening at 5.30pm where you will be met by Lord Seymour, his manservant Smedley and their faithful head-on-a-stick, ‘Ed’. Should his Lordship decide you are worthy, you will visit St George’s Field, Clifford’s Tower, the Crown Court, the Debtor’s Prison, the Little John pub, the Church of St Crux, Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma Gate, Bedern, York’s Treasurers House, the Minster and the birthplace of Guy Fawkes, to name but a few! Not bad for an hour and fifteen minutes of wandering!
