Opens in May: The Labyrinth of the Lost
It's like getting lost in a nightmare!
Hamburg Dungeon's shocking new exhibition area, opening in May, is 'Das Labyrinth der Verlorenen' (The labyrinth of the lost), probably the world's first horror-themed maze.
An elaborate network of mirrors will create a dizzying series of optical illusions guaranteed to raise pulses, make hair stand on end and prompt a rising panic as visitors wander round and around in total, terrified confusion.
And as if the static grisly tableaux appearing in seemingly endless reflections were not disturbing enough... every now and again frighteningly dressed actors will appear from nowhere just to get heartbeats hammering faster still.
The labyrinth is constructed by Adrian Fisher, the world's foremost maze designer. So far, the professor of mathematics has constructed over 400 mazes in 25 countries. The Dungeon's labyrinth is the biggest new development since the 'Wasserfahrt durch die Sturmflut von 1717' (boat ride experiencing the storm tides in 1717) was opened in 2002.
